Not sure which college to pick? Here's some help.

Choosing the right college is a very big challenge. How to deal with it?

First of all it is important to point out that transition from high school to college will require a mind-shift. Methods of learning change significantly at college. Your working and studying schedule and environment will change as well (probably you will have to move, too).

Which things you need to have in mind when selecting the right college for you?
For starters, you can write on a sheet of paper all professions that are interesting to you and the jobs you would find yourself comfortable doing later in life. On top of that choose a profession / job that will challenge you on a daily basis. This is the only way to keep growing career-wise.

The next step is to write down all faculties that offer programs that interests you. Gather as much information about the desired colleges as you can find. I recently stumbled across this website that provides lots of credible information on several colleges across the globe. It is a very credible source of information as they do not censor user reviews but instead they let everyone write what they think. It is considered by many as the largest database of colleges and universities on the internet. I do not disagree.

When choosing a college be open to suggestions from you parents, friends, counselors, teachers and acquaintances. However, you should not let them affect your choice if you disagree with them. It is you that needs to make the choice as it is your life and not your parent's.

Don't forget to check employability for your profession!
Of course, it is important that you choose to study something that interests you, but it makes sense to check out possible employability after graduation so you won't find yourself being unemployed for years after you have finished with college.
