Erasmus in Sienna - Universita degli studi di Siena

by minarali » Mon May 02, 2011 2:15 pm

Ciao all! I visited Italy in 2009. I choose to go to Sienna. It is rather small city (compared to Milan or Rome). It has only about 50000 people. But it is ok, because you have all faculties in the center of the city and everything is near. You can walk everywhere :) I went to Universita degli studi di Siena - studied economics. I recommend this programs: Economia dell'Organizzazione, Economia e Gestione delle Imprese and this professor: Alessandro Innocenti. The way of studying in Italy is different to ours (i'm German). You must do a lot of work and studying during the semester - there are almost none seminars (to work at home) and no homeworks. You can pass all exams by taking two "smaller" exams that give you a full grade together.
I lived in private apartment in the center of the city: (via Roma). I shared a room with a roommate (we payed 280€ for 1 month). We had internet plug so it was cheap. As I mentioned above you can walk around the city and you don't need to use the bus. Food is cheap for erasmus students - in restaurants called "mensa" you can get a lunch for 2,6€ (at least that was the price in 2009).
Social life in this town is quite good too. Erasmus Sienna organization organized weekly meetings and parties and also trips around Italy (some trips were for few days, some were only for 1 day).
The most important thing about erasmus is to learn different cultures and to live on your own. My erasmus exchange gave me this and I am very happy about this :) I alse met some great people from all over the world. I will never regret that I went to erasmus exchange, although I have spent a lot of my savings to go abroad, but I look at exchange more as an investment in my life! It was just great!!
For any questions contant me trough the forum ;)
